The Yoga Alliance 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training course is a comprehensive training program, designed in accordance with the 200-hour requirements for registration with Yoga Alliance. At the end of the course, you will be a certified Yoga Instructor, eligible to register with Yoga Alliance.

Our focus is on the individual. We believe in thoughtful and mindful practice, tailored to each student. Rather than trying to fit into a popularized system of practice, Yogi Sivadas modifies his classes to suit today’s life conditions and needs. For the last 24 years, Yogi Sivadas has shared his knowledge of traditional Yoga, ancient philosophy and healing. He has enriched the lives of trainee teachers and their students across the globe. Classes are in English.

The 200 hour course is a 4 week program. We specialize in classes of smaller groups, with a maximum of 12 students per course in order to give the students more personal attention. Yoga mat, yoga mat cover, carry bag for study materials (books/study manuals) two sets of uniforms and all study materials are provided. All this is included in the course fee.

Kailash Tribal School of Yoga and Holistic Healing is located in Mcleodganj, near Dharamsala. The town is a quiet and beautiful area offering all necessary amenities including: next day laundry, fresh fruits and vegetables, multi-cuisine restaurants, internet, etc.


Cost for accommodation, food, and travel will be incurred by the students. 

The school has a limited number of guest rooms available to the students. Bright and very clean rooms with balconies facing the valley and mountains. Each room has a private bathroom.

You are responsible for the health and well being of your body and mind. The school is located 100 meters from the main square. The town has many facilities available including: next day laundry, fresh fruits and vegetables, multi-cuisine restaurants, Internet, etc. 

Plenty of restaurants are very close in town and meals can cost 50-300 INR.

Airport transfers

Please keep that in mind when you make your travel arrangements. 

Those who have an onward connecting international flight give minimum 15 hours to take a taxi to Delhi airport. It is advisable to leave enough time to take the over night bus or taxi if needed.

How to get there

Transportation from New Delhi to Dharamsala:


An overnight bus from Delhi will cost INR 550 to 1050 to Mclodganj taking 10 to 12 hours. For online bus booking go to this link - http://hrtc.gov.in, private bus services are usually more clean and comfortable but leave from different location called ‘Majnu Ka Tilla’ other than bus station. A domestic flight from Delhi to Dharmsala airport (also called Gaggal, Kangra airport) will cost around INR 4000 to 9000. Check:

A pickup taxi directly from New Delhi airport will cost INR 8000 to 10000 it will take 10 to 12 hours. We can reserve a taxi for you with advance confirmation.

Applicants should have practiced yoga consistently for at least 2 year prior to the course and should be able to demonstrate a general level of health and fitness.

Travel information

Common procedure is to apply for a Tourist Visa, which is the least complicated avenue. Please apply for your visa well in advance of your travel plans. 

Weather conditions in the Himalayas sometimes can change frequently due to the global climate change, students must be prepared to cope and adjust with it and should check online to find a suitable climate for them to partake in the course.

The school operates under a strict Code of Conduct that is based primarily on the philosophy of Yoga, Ayurveda and Reiki. Respect, camaraderie, tolerance and mutual understanding have to lie at the basis of all interactions between students and govern all interactions between students and teacher. Please take some time to familiarize yourself with the Code of Conduct. It will enhance the benefits you gain from any of the classes or courses you take.

The Teacher of Kailash Tribal School of Yoga will:

1) Uphold the professional standards of his teaching profession throughout all his interactions with students by conducting himself in a professional manner.

2) Create and maintain a safe, comfortable and clean environment conducive to the practice of yoga.

3) Respect the right to privacy and dignity of all students.

4) Be conscious and aware of his limitations as a yoga teacher according to his scope of practice.

5) Encourage diversity and be nonjudgmental towards students regardless of their age, racial background, gender or religious orientation.

6) Avoid words or actions that constitute any form of sexual harassment.

7) Adhere to the basic traditional principles of yoga as written in Yamas and Niyamas.

8) Follow and adhere to the national laws of India that pertain to the Yoga and Holistic healing school and teaching activity.

9) When appropriate he will refer a student to seek alternative instructions or advice.

Students are expected to:

1) Be punctual for all classes and arranged meetings in relation to the yoga school.

2) Students must engage themselves with self studying the given syllabus in free hours.

3) Avoid the use of intoxicants while taking part in any of the courses.

4) Purchase own health and other needed insurance.

5) Be respectful, polite, honest and fair in their interactions with the teacher and fellow students.

6) Follow the yogic lifestyle as outlined in the Yamas and Niyamas.

7) Inform the teacher about any pre-existing or arising health conditions and issues.

8) Be focused on the course, its content and practices.

9) Contemplate the teachings and engage in discussions with the teacher if any issues or questions arise.

10) While studying any long-term courses with Kailash Tribal School any other courses from other institutions are not permitted.

  • Kailash Tribal School reserves the right to cancel any program at any time due to an emergency situation. This has never happened before. In this case, the applicant will receive 100% refund of payment. Courses will not be cancelled in the case of low enrollment.
  • If the student is expelled from the course due to misbehavior, not following the program, disrespecting the teacher or fellow classmates or lack of attendance no refund will be given.
  • Booking the course engages a legal agreement of acceptance by the students of the cancellation policy and following the course program. Course bookings are not transferable.

Yogi Sivadas

Yogi Sivadas (Sugathakumar Narayanan Nair) has been practising Yoga all his life and founded the Kailash Tribal School of Yoga and Holistic Healing in 2002.

He has over 24 years of teaching experience, teaching in India, its neighbouring countries, as well as, across Europe and the Middle East. For most of the year he teaches all classes at his school. 

He is an Experienced Advanced Yoga Teacher E-RYT 500, also a Registered Pregnancy Yoga Teacher RPYT and Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher RCYT as perstandards of Yoga Alliance USA. 

 He is a recognized Senior Teacher SYT with Yoga Alliance UK. Yogi Sivadas is also a gifted and established healer and teaches and practices Holistic Ayurveda, Reiki, Sound Healing and Meditation.
