Build core strength and tone your body with Ashtanga yoga!
What is Ashtanga yoga?
The Ashtanga (Vinyasa) Yoga style is deemed as a modern-day form of classical Indian yoga, said to encompass the original teachings on philosophy, vinyasa, drishti, mudras and bandhas.
Ashtanga Yoga is dynamic and physically demanding, that involves many vinyasas as it aims to purify the body by producing internal heat through synchronizing the progressive series of postures with breath. Therefore be prepared to sweat off all the toxins from your muscles and organs during practice!
A typical Ashtanga practice begins with a warm up consisting usually of 5 repetitions of Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutation) A and 5 repetitions of Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutation) B, followed by a standing sequence (Tristhana), and closes with a pre-determined, specific sequence.
