Instructors

Namito
From an early age Namito has been on his path of yoga, learning from teachers and masters that most only ever read about with awe and reverence. Living and growing up in the state of Bihar, he witnessed Swami Satyananda practicing yoga on one of his visits and was captivated by the ancient allure of yoga. At the age of seven Swami Satyandanda began teaching Namito asana and pranayama practices after discovering his immense ability and potential. From an early age Namito began translating books form English to Hindi and spoke about his ability to witness his mind, watching his thoughts move across the ceiling as he lay on his bed, detachment from his mind a natural ability. Namito began his schooling years at the Krishnamurti boarding school, learning from the enlightened master throughout his early education. Seeing his potential and interest, Krishnamurti suggested that Namito should go and learn from B.K.S Iyengar. Studying with Iyengar personally for a few years, Namito also got opportunity to study with Pattahbi Jois for one year. After this Namito traveled to Norway, where being encouraged by both his father and his master, B.K.S Iyengar, he pursued his medical career and taught Yoga.Throughout this time, he continually came back to India to continue learning from his Master Iyengar, and after living many years abroad in 2010, Namito came back to India to visit his Master Iyengar who asked him to move back to India, start intensive practice and assisting in his medical and therapeutic yoga classes. In 2013, Iyengar directed Namito to start his own yoga school, which is how Abhinam Yoga School was created, first in Dharamkot, and then in Patnem, South Goa. Since 2013, more than 100 people have been graduated as Registered Yoga Teachers with the school. Namito is so happy with how the school is evolving and growing with every year.

Shunyo
Shunyo has been learning and practicing yoga for many years in its various forms like Ashtanga, Iyengar, Hatha and Shivananda. She studied theology at the Doshisha University in Japan. She has a strong foundation of practice in Ashtanga Vinyasa Flow. During her yoga study at Iyengar Institute Pune, India, she developed a strong feeling that yoga is for all types and age group of people. She was fascinated by the various uses of different yoga props and became aware of their significance in teaching yoga to people with physical limitations. Shunyo’s teaching style is a fusion of her experience of Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga of Patanjali with Iyengar style and her close contact with nature and meditation. With her serene individuality she motivates her students to approach yoga with humbleness and devotion.

Micha
Micha’s passion to help other people is reflected in her very being, not only as a yoga teacher but also a Reiki Master which she says is just “another way of helping people”. She is currently the student coordinator and a guest teacher at Abhinam Yoga School and her days are filled with helping and guiding all of the students that walk through the Yoga schools doors. Having started practicing yoga at the age of 19 she said he “fell in love” with yoga after her very first class and has now been practicing for 10 years. After completing her 200hr Yoga TTC with Namito at Abhinam Yoga’s Goa School, Micha is now continuing her study, working towards the 500hr YTCC with Namito, where she plans to specialize in yoga therapy.

Overall I recommend this school for anyone interested in doing an Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga TTC. Teachers were very good and the learning obtained from it was very valuable to my growth in the field of yoga. We had plenty of time to practice teaching methodology which in my understanding is so important when you're pursuing a career that involves sharing your knowledge with others. The location is phenomenal. From Yoga Alliance

    "Feeling confident about teaching "
I had high expectations as I have been studying yoga before. And I learned more in 200 hrs about Yoga, asanas and teaching than I could ever expect. Although a Yoga teacher always remains a student as well, I feel confident enough now to start teaching yoga without any previous teaching experience. From Yoga Alliance

    "Highly recommended! "
I highly recommend this school, not only for beginners doing the 200-hour course, but also for advanced students. The structure of the course is very clear, even for beginners: the schedule of the day from the morning class to our own teaching practice, philosophy, theory and anatomy / physiology. The main thing is that the teachers of the course have a lot of experience. Namito especially brings a lot to the course because of his background in medicine, as well as many years working with BKS Iyengar. As a result, the anatomy and physiology classes are in great detail and very accurate – not just repeating their own theoretical learning but literally from hands-on experience! This obviously means that the teaching on alignment is very high quality. The atmosphere / energy levels in the course, the teachers’ dedication to the students and the quality of teaching all combine to make a brilliant course. Even a person with no experience of yoga will become ready to take their practice further or to begin teaching. So, if you want great teachers, great company and a great course to really get you ready to practice and teach yoga, Abhinam is the perfect place! From Yoga Alliance

    "professional instructors "
Even though the Abhinam TTC was physically demanding, I really enjoyed my training. I learned a lot and felt confident to teach just after graduation. The Instructors are professional on all levels, and I look forward to spending more time with them in the future. From Yoga Alliance

"I would certainly recommend Abhinam Yoga School to all my friends and family!"
All teachers are highly skilled in Yoga. I came to to my TTC with two other friends. We had great time. We learnt a lot during the course. I would certainly recommend Abhinam Yoga School to all my friends and family when they want to learn yoga or join Yoga TTC. The knowledge I received at Abhinam Yoga will be very useful for my career as teacher. It's important to learn all the alignment and anatomy for helping my yoga students. Namito taught so many details of alignment and Maki is expert in flow. Dipika is a great philosophy teacher. The whole team is so supportive. Thanks for all support and knowledge. Namaste! "Improve your practice in a loving and supportive environment "
I was looking for a yoga school to help me improve my yoga poses and alignment and then I found the Abhinam yoga school website. They were teaching Ashtanga with Iyengar style, which was more than I was looking for in the first place. I personally love to practice Ashtanga yoga. During the teacher training course, all the teachers especially Namito helped me out a lot and he always paid attention to the wellbeing be of his students. When I finished the 200 hrs teacher training course with Abhinam yoga school, I saw a good change in my poses and my alignment. No more struggling to get into the poses, my alignment is in the right place so no more muscle pain and injuries. I'm so grateful that I got a chance to practice yoga at Abhinam yoga school. I would recommend Abhinam Yoga School to any one who want to do their Yoga TTC in a loving and supportive environment and learn the subject deeply. From Yoga Alliance

"Great place to acquire new knowledge"
I recommend this school for anyone interested in doing a Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga TTC. The teachers were very knowledgeable and helpful. The location is beautifully set in an outdoor shala. I really loved the Sunset Meditations on the beach at the end of our training days. The teachers were very professional and nurturing. Namito has comprehensive knowledge of ashtanga vinyasa and anatomy. I really enjoyed Namito sharing his knowledge from years of working in the field of Yoga. The practice and class schedule was very good and the 300-hour training ran very smoothly. We had plenty of time to both practice and teach. I learned a lot and was really able to take my personal practice to the next level as well as learning new teaching techniques. I really enjoyed the five-week course program syllabus with all its detail and the emphasis on the importance of practicing yoga and then to go on and share it with others. With all the philosophy, meditation we learned how to be the witness. If you’re seeking to be a yoga teacher, this is a great place to acquire new knowledge and tools. From Yoga Alliance
