In your first Holistic Therapy Session we will use a muscle testing technique where we will receive information on what is going on in your body, what your body is manifesting with those symptoms, what is the cause of those limitations/issues in your life and most of all, what type of therapeutic approach is most suitable. During all sessions we will pinpoint the source of different issues and find effective ways to deal with it. This information will empower you with the knowledge necessary to understand how your body and mind function, allowing you to better understand your life experiences, health issues as a whole, and offer a way in which to move forward in an integral way.

By far the biggest risk in Costa Rica is related to the less than modern roads, and the less than careful drivers. This risk can be minimized by driving only during daylight hours until you become accustomed to the "exotic" driving conditions, wearing seatbelts, and trying to take your longer drives in the morning if traveling during the rainy season. Other possible health concerns may include: Water is safe to drink in most of Costa Rica. However, bottled water is recommended for newcomers. Malaria is not a danger for travelers in Costa Rica. According to the Ministry of Health, there are only a few isolated areas of the country where cases have been reported. Cholera has not been a serious problem in Costa Rica because of a concerted effort on the part of health officials to identify and treat any cases imported from other countries. Mosquitoes are usually not a problem. Bug spray is often useful at sunrise or sunset during the rainy season, when the "no see 'ems" especially enjoy a nip of your feet and legs. What kind of health care is available in the area? A hospital managed by the Costa Rican government is located 15 minutes from the hotel. In addition, bilingual doctors are available 24/7 for any kind of emergency. During which months does it rain most? Costa Rica's Pacific coast enjoys a classic, predictable monsoon climate i.e. there are only two distinct seasons: rainy and dry. Normally the rainy season runs from mid-April to mid-November. During this time, mornings are usually clear and it often rains in the early evenings. We recommend you check the links below to see a current forecast.

Following in the footsteps of her father, Evelina studied a wide range of therapies in her native Italy, as well as in the United States and Costa Rica, with over 25 years of passionate study, research and professional dedication. Evelina’s therapeutic approach relies on the brilliant discoveries of Dr Hammer, the New German Medicine, Osteopathy Techniques such as Cranio Sacral Therapy and T.R.O.A., integrating the whole practice into D.E.I. protocol (Integral Energetic Diagnosis) the first kinesiology in Latin America, founded by Elsa Am at Viento Solar Institute. In 2013 she opened a new Wellness Center in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, where she has a great team of therapists and instructors that believe in leading by example with the transformational benefits of holistic therapy. Evelina continues to grow the new healing center by helping people find the root of their stressors, and giving them a different light on how to take care of themselves!

My recent experience at Holis while on vacation in Costa Rica was wonderful! I am coming back from a serious injury and everyone seemed so receptive to my needs... I had the Muddy Buddy body treatment and a Essenthya Facial-- my therapist did an amazing job with both. You can tell how fresh and natural the products are, and everything is done with respect to the client, environment, and of course, the practice of massage and aesthetics! I usually want to shower after receiving body treatments but I wanted to leave this natural goodness on my skin as long as possible, and my face was still glowing 24 hours later. I also did a restorative yoga class (my first yoga class in 2.5months) with Amelia and it was was truly restorative. Our concierge at Espadilla Ocean Club booked all the treatments for myself and my friend, and everything went very smoothly. Evelina had a great recommendation for a refreshing snack in between yoga & treatments... you can make a full day out of everything that Holis has to offer. All in all, great people, great place, great experience! - From: tripadvisor

Yesterday I took an early morning yoga class at Holis which was brilliant. The instructor was lovely and very calming throughout. I liked the centre so much I decided to go back and treat myself to a spa package. I had a full body massage, mini facial and pedicure from Astrid. It was one of the best massages I've ever had and Astrid was very sweet. Would definitely recommend a visit to Holis for both the yoga classes and spa treatments. Absolutely lush! - From: tripadvisor

I went to Hollis Spa yesterday with my family for my mother’s birthday, since it was Valentine’s Day I booked in advance but they seem to be very accommodating to walk ins. The front desk coordinator (I am so bad with remembering names but I think she is there most days) was super friendly and helpful, she did a wonderful job arranging our appointments and making sure we were comfortable. The treatments were AMAZING we all had a very relaxing time. I highly recommend the massages, I got a Thai massage and it was heavenly. - From: Google Review

This was my first visit to Holis Wellness. It was just up the street from where we were staying so convenient for me. I had stopped by earlier and walked in to get information and a feel for the place. I was welcomed with a smile and an on the spot consultation regarding a facial that would best suit my skin. Not knowing our schedule for the week, I told them I would call back. They were very nice when I called and were able to accommodate that same afternoon. The treatment room is nice, but not luxury. My therapist did not speak English and with my limited Spanish, there was little talk, but I enjoyed the quiet and the soothing music. The facial was good. My expectations may have been high since it was called Deluxe but I was pleased enough for the price. Other spas in the area I had checked were in a higher $ range. - From: tripadvisor

My recent trip to Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica was nothing short of an amazing experience. I booked a yoga and surf retreat package through Holis Wellness Center and Spa. The staff at Holis offered first class concierge services for all my travel plans. Furthermore, they went above and beyond my expectations with offering recommendations, resources and help throughout my stay. A special thanks to Tatiana and Evelina! The yoga was vast in variety and every instructor was superb. The views from the studio were heavenly. After four days of body healing yoga, and safe yet exhilarating surf instruction, I ended my visit with a 90min “total body awareness” massage… Just blissful! A totally rejuvenating and recharging trip. I highly recommend a visit with Holis. I rate it a 10/10 in my books. - From: Holi Wellness Center, testimonial.

I used Spa Holis as an addition to a retreat I was running – Evelina provided my guests with DEI treatments and the response was incredible – all of which are still raving about their experience. I too had a treatment from Evelina and I can say in my own words that she has a special gift, an ability to to see and feel and energize the soul. The new wellness centre is bright and beautiful and so so welcoming, there is no pretence just pure acceptance of everyone that walks in there and has the pleasure of interacting with any of the spa’s amazing teachers. And they are all teachers of mind, body and soul. I highly recommend Spa Holis to anyone! - From: Holi Wellness Center, testimonial.
