In the hectic pace of daily life in the West, nature brings rest and peace. The purer and less populated, the easier you can relax. By slowing down and taking moments to be still and in addition to doing exercises that increase your vibrancy, you\'re more aware of what is happening in your inner world and the world outside of you. The reward is that you will see better how fulfilling the present moment is; how you are constantly supported in your essential needs; how you can relax because nothing is threatening you; how you can relax more because you are a mature, powerful, capable and free human being and how you are part of an intelligent and coherent existence.

Daily Program

You will arrive at Kilimanjaro airport in Tanzania where you will be met by us and taken to L’Oasis Meserani just outside Arusha to spend the night. L’Oasis Meserani is a spiritual place. It has been built up during the past 17 years by a Tanzanian lady called Margaret.

You can see she did this in a loving and caring way. What makes it extra special is that she also has her own vegetable garden and takes care of her animals in a eco-friendly way.
You will be picked up for a game drive in Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is well-known for its many Elephants and Baobabs. You will see many animals and have lunch at a place with a nice view on the river.

In the evening you can relax at Kudu Campsite in Karatu. Karatu is the last town before the gate of Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will enjoy your first meal of our own cook.
Today we will leave to Ngorongoro and visit our Masaï friends in Endonyowas. You will be heartily welcomed into their ceremony and have a chance to get in touch and exchange with them. Masaï have a simple and hard life. The circumstances have drastically changed and they need to adjust to save some of their culture and lifestyle. That is why they very much like to meet you, to exchange and learn from each other.

Meanwhile the donkeys will be packed to join us in the afternoon for our first walk to Bulati. During your walk we will give you some suggestions to switch your attention from your thinking to your senses.

In Bulati we will spend the night on the edge ‘Embulbul depression’ in our own light weight tents.
From Bulati we will make a sturdier walk to the Empakai Crater. Following a special path, you can even enter the Crater to enjoy silence, atmosphere, smells and if you’re lucky even a group of Flamingos. At the Crater Lake we will do our first Breath Work meditation.

In a beautiful scenery you are guided on a special journey inside to open your heart. At the rim we will spend the night listening to the sounds of the bush.
From Empakai we will walk to Akesha Campsite. A part of this walk we will keep silent. We will visit the village of Nayobi to have lunch and get extra water for our trip.

We will camp in the wild at the edge of Great Rift Valley under the beautiful Akesha trees.
From Akesha campsite we will do a breathtaking trip alongside Great Rift Valley to Lake Natron. There we will spend three nights at ‘Lake natron Tented Camp’ to relax and enjoy the trip to an amazing, crazy waterfall where you can go for a lovely swim.

We will also visit the special lake where the biggest colony of flamingos in the world resides. At Natron we have plenty of time to do also Yoga and Sufi Meditation.
We will leave early to visit the most famous wildpark in the world for 2 nights. Here we will do gamedriving and try to witness all kinds of scenery's with wild animals like leopards, lions, cheetas, zebras, elephants, hippos and more. On day 10 we will slowly leave the park to enter Marangu, a Masaï village to spend the night.
Today you can choose to hike and see a colony of breeding vultures or participate in a jewelry workshop with masaï women. Meanwhile you can have interesting conversations or have a good laugh with them.
This is a travelday. Early in the morning we will travel back to Mto Wa Mbu. This is a flowering town where we will spend the night at Fanaka Campsite.
In the morning we can visit the Masaï market and shops in Mto Wa Mbu. You can buy some lovely souvenirs and taste the local climate . In the afternoon we return to Arusha. We will take you to a wonderful hotel with a big swimmingpool and romantic atmosphere. They have a great menu and two shops. Enjoy.
Maybe you want to enjoy this hotel a bit longer or you want to visit the modern museum in Arusha, which we recommend. At the end of the day we will take you to Kilimanjaro for your flight home and we hope you will look back on a very authentic and special safari.

"“We learned so much about meditation and being in the present moment”"
This was my first trip to Africa, from all the way across the world in California. I was very apprehensive, but the minute Alina and Rama met me at the airport, I felt welcomed and cared for and ready for adventure. The tour was a beautiful way to see the nature and landscape of Northern Tanzania with an intimate group of lovely like-minded people. Touring around in a rugged Land Cruiser and camping in tents or staying in modest hotels suited me much more than traveling in a huge bus with large group. We learned so much about meditation and being in the present moment, including some ideas I still practice in my daily life. It was a lot of terrain to cover in the 13 days that we had, so more time was spent in the car than hiking or being outside or doing yoga on many of the days, but we were able to see large areas of the countryside and villages. I would not hesitate to book a trip again through Mindful Adventure. - From Mindful Adventure Reviews

    "In Depth "
"I found the trip too short, so much happened. I would have wanted to stay in a place for a bit longer to be able to absorb it better. The peace and space and the moments of mindfulness were so inspiring that I wanted to do more with them, there under your guidance. The hike was the best, also in slow motion to music, in the beginning it was difficult, but because it lasted so long you went along in the flow and gave it a lot of rest. Thanks Alina for this experience. The waterfall and the climb to it was great too. I found the meeting with the village of the Masai difficult, it was perhaps too early in the journey for me. I greatly enjoyed the country, the people and your crew; It was amazing. I often think back to the trip and would like more. It makes me more human ". - From Mindful Adventure Reviews

    "Mindful"
"A camping spot between Masai villages, a tree and a wide view. At the crack of the day five rhythm dances from Gabrielle Roth. Memories of years of dancing, memories of dramatic events back then. Now dancing again with the emotions of mourning and loss: fluent and weeping, stamping staccato and still. The Masai companion Muran is dancing along, the teenage daughters of Rama the driver too. This is as life can be in all its diversity and zest for life. On the lane people walk from village to village, they stand, watch and lean on a stick and walk on again. A mindful inner and outer journey through Tanzania, adventurous and inspiring. "A "Wow" Feeling"
This safari was a trip to a very beautiful country but also very beautiful inside yourself! From the first moment I was there, the nerves fell away and it was only healthy tension: "what would happen in the next 2 weeks". And what has happened? We searched for lions, elephants, leopards, ... how wonderful it was to stand in between! Really a wow feeling. In addition, there was also the super beautiful landscape during the walks where we have been able to enjoy so much extra through the mindfulness exercises and because we have lived in the NOW. Every meal was a feast of our great cook! If you still have doubts, just do it and let yourself be taken in a special adventure. I certainly take it with me and I have become less anxious since I got back !! Really WOW !!!! - From Mindful Adventure Reviews

""This was a completely different holiday than the standard trips offered by most travel agencies""
It was a fantastic experience to go to Tanzania with Mindful Adventure. This was a completely different holiday than the standard trips that most travel agencies offer. Enjoy walking with the Maasai through the ever-changing landscape, letting the grandeur of nature work on you and then camping with the donkeys, their drivers and our own cook. Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti, that were the three highlights of the trip and then swimming under a romantic waterfall! Indescribable how many animals you can spot in their habitat in such a short time. I enjoyed it and think about it with great pleasure. - From Mindful Adventure Reviews
