Course description

AIM : Learning the basic rules and regulations of yogic life in practicality and Ishwara Pranidana that is sacrificing every fruit of action to God. OBJECTIVES : As sage, Patanjali said, “Yogah Chitta vritti norodhaha”, this program makes the learner to start up the journey of yoga. TEACHING METHODOLOGY : As the Vedas well said, life style is the spiritual path. Waking up early morning, start the day with chanting of different mantras, shlokas, daily practices, eating natural foods etc., These will be practically experienced. ACHIEVEMENTS : Self assessment at the beginning and ending of the day makes the learner to understand the status of his or her present life and what is next. This realization happens with this kind of program and is basic routine followed in Gurukulam (Traditional Schools) even today as a tradition. ELIGIBILITY: 200, 300, 500 TTC CODE OF CONDUCT (Yama) Personal honesty and self assessment. Be punctual and regular to all the sessions planned in the schedule. Use of tobacco, alcohol, and non-veg food etc. in any form. Total personality as per the Taittiriya Upanishads helps the learner to grow in spiritual lore. GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS: Calm, listening to Guru all the time (HYP-14). Yoga fails by overeating, overexertion, excessive talk, the observance of disciplines, promiscuous company and unsteadiness (HYP-15). Succeed by having zeal towards learning, bold determination, courage, true knowledge, firmness (belief in the words of Guru), renunciation of unsuitable people (HYP-16). According to Patanjali maha muni, Yama and Niyamas will be the first step in yoga life. Avoid fire, journeys in the beginning of yoga life. Also don’t prefer the hard practice, early morning cold water bath, fasting etc (HYP-1.61).Making a decision after reading a scripture makes the difference of living. The actual goal of this retreat will be done after analyzing the drama, notes made by the students everyday.

Rishikesh Yoga Retreats (Rishikesh Yog Sansthan) Swargashram Rishikesh Yog Sansthan is a yoga teacher training school situated in swargashram Rishikesh where many students around the globe come to learn about yoga and become a yoga teacher. Accommodation comprises of single rooms and double shared rooms. All rooms have attached bathrooms. The bathrooms are equipped with western toilet seats and cold showers. Hot water is also available during winter season.

The food available is only vegetarian and a lot of small eateries roadside all the time.

Diet According to Bhagawad gita Sattvik diet will be available. As per Ayurveda, diet is also used for detoxification process. Few items are as follows: Highly nutritious food by providing dry fruits Tulasi- Anti aging, removes stress These will be used in few dishes of the day as a powder. This food keeps the colon clean. Daily fruits like Berries- these work as antioxidants. Turmeric- this root brings the probiotics naturally to clean up the GIT cover. Mint- if it is the first meal of the day, it can refresh each cell. Green juices or smoothies like spinach with avocado and milk. Pineapple with banana and spinach. Lemon- reduces kidney stones if taken with olive oil or raw apple cider vinegar. Add black pepper and ginger to reduce excessive mucus and removing wastes. This improves immune system and rectifies flu. Ginger with lemon or Cinnamon with honey- prevents fat accumulation. Soaked seeds or nuts are the near stage of germination. Hence the fresh energy and high nutritious condition can be achieved with soaking and sprouting. Soaking reduces the phytic acid of outer layer, encourage the production of beneficial enzymes and reducing enzyme inhibitors, increases vit- B, reduce gluten and enhance digestion, prevent mineral loss and bone loss. Raw vegetables and half boiled vegetables- they are good sources of fibers other than vitamins and minerals. Less amount of fat and calories reduces body weight and good for heart. Broccoli reduces the cancer. Green vegetables- Fertilize the natural microbes of the body. Panchakarma Different steps of panchakarma are guided by the experts of the school with coordinated yoga sessions. This is hoe the learner’s health is going to be improved during their stay. Basti As mentioned in Sushrutha Samhitha, basti is one of the best process of cleaning the intestine. This is also called as enema. There will not be side effects when administered by experts. As a cleaning process and detoxification process, basti will help the fast recovery from any illness. Skin shines up gradually. This is very good for constipation problems. Body pack As one of the traditional bath, different pastes like turmeric, sandal, mud etc, helps in providing the good metals to the body. It also detoxifies though the skin. Beauty s part of the cleaning process, different natural cleaning techniques are available for natural beauty. Indian tradition of outfit is also can be learned. Dosha & Prakruti As per the body composition, the treatments and diet will be given by our experts. How to get there

By Air Jolly Grant airport at Dehradun is the nearest airport to Rishikesh which is approximately 35 kilometres away By Bus Being a popular tourist destination, Rishikesh has a good network of buses connecting it with important places such as Haridwar, Dehradun and New Delhi The nearest railhead to Rishikesh is in Haridwar which is approximately 25 kilometres away. Haridwar, in turn, is linked to major Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow and Varanasi. Some of the popular trains are Shatabadi Express, Jan Shatabdi, AC Special Express and Mussoorie Express. For those making the journey to Rishikesh, it is advisable to take the train till Haridwar and then either take a bus or hire a taxi to Rishikesh. While the bus would take about 45 minutes, the taxi will take you to Rishikesh in about half an hour.

Dr. Amravati
She has done Master of Physiotherapy & now pursuing PhD in yoga from SVYASA University, Bangalore. With 12 years of practice with both physiotherapy and yoga, she got experience from named universities and hospitals of South India. She was been training students of PhD, MD, BSc (yoga), MSc (yoga) and PG diploma (yoga) courses. She was been treating more than 1000 orthopaedic cases, 800 cardio-respiratory cases and more than 500 lifestyle disorder cases. Administrative work, curriculum developments, coordinating the students in their progression, guiding MSc dissertations etc., were also special skills she got. As part of the career, she worked with an international yoga academy for 1 year in Rishikesh and got interested to progress in the same field and spreading the knowledge to Westerners from India itself. Her tools of practice are teaching theory, practical, innovative teaching methodologies, quizzes, skits about philosophy and practices of lifestyle. With all these knowledge, she started to develop a school which takes the students towards the golden paths of ancient wisdom. At this goal Rishikesh Yog Sansthan (RYS) took birth. She is going to teach Anatomy & Physiology of Yoga practices, yoga philosophy Pranayama, meditation, relaxation techniques and way of life.

 

Yogacharya Abhishek Ratudi
He is one of the leading faculties of Hatha yoga. He is trained with 200-hour course from an esteemed yoga school in Rishikesh in May-2015. Since then gained experience of teaching foreign students. He is going to help the students to overcome the difficult postures and learn how to understand the self-capacity.

 

Yogacharya Govind Kumar
He experienced teacher from Rishikesh Yog Peeth, Rishikesh. He has 2 years of experience from the same school and also travelled Thailand, Maldives etc., He is good at adjustments, alignments pranayama and guided meditation.     Sanjeev is an excellent teacher. He grew up practicing yoga and so his techniques are amazing. Besides that, of course, he is wise and taught us much more than we expected we would learn. From the simplest asanas to the most advanced ones, to alignment, to teaching techniques and even chanting mantras. If you are going to his school, no worries, you're in very good hands.     I finished my retreat couple of weeks ago and I still get this smile on my face when I remind the warm and welcoming staff and yoga teachers there. Everything was very well organized from the time of arriving to the final take off. I think if you have a little bit limited time and you want to experience and see as much as possible (especially when you are in India for the first time) then RYS Yoga Retreats with combination of yogic lifestyle together with some more active and adventurous trips is the best option for this.
