About the place

Rishikesh Yoga Retreat is a boutique retreat ensconced amidst the foothills of the Great Himalayas in Tapovan, Rishikesh. It is a serene and peaceful locale away from the main highway. The sacred Ganges River pours luminous blue-green water from the Shivalik Hills on her journey to the plains. It is easy to see why Rishikesh (Lord Vishnu) was named “Lord of the Senses” and why Uttarakhand, the state in which it lies, is known as Dev Bhumi – “Land of the Gods”. Each room at Rishikesh Yoga Retreat offers breathtaking views of the valley and Himalayan Hill accompanied with a private and quiet balcony area to relax, sip a cup of tea, or just read a book to the sound of the River Ganges and the wind kissing the hills.


The Multi Cuisine Restaurant serves Organic Vegetarian cuisine. We offer a diverse menu, healthy and delicious cuisine incorporating traditional and contemporary, using primarily locally sourced organic vegetables and ingredients. Herbal teas, Juices, Teas are obtainable at all time. We prepare vegetarian meals made with the most fresh ingredients purchased at the local market daily as well as sourced from our Organic farms in the Himalayas. Type of yoga: Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Hatha Evening Ganga Aarti: Just as the sun’s rising is manifest by prayers. Each evening as the sun’s last rays reflect off the endless waters of mother Ganga, we congregate for the Ganga Aarti. This divine light ritual is filled with devotional prayers, songs, rituals and a palpable sense of the holiness of mother Ganga. The Aarti, an ornate oil lamp, lined with dozens of inferno burning in pure ghee- is offered to god. We give gratitude for the blessings bestowed upon us that day, as well as representatively offering light back to Ganga Aarti is a time when we break free from the normal strain & stresses of every- day life, & gather together in joy, peace and reverence. White Water River Rafting, Kayaking and Much More….For those looking for a corporeal challenge, kayaking, White Water River Rafting, Rappelling, Climbing and Cliff jumping are all available. Mountain Biking: Get on to special mountain bikes, to explore the nearby villages and forests, or ask for a challenging route to push the level of biking action further. Typical Indian Experience: Rishikesh Yoga Retreat organises Himalayan Folk Dance Performances and Local Classical Music Recitals occasionally. You can also ask our staff to take you to a neighbouring village to witness the festivities of the several cultural and spiritual events that take place each month. Nature Active - Himalayan Village Experience: During this visit, you can see the agricultural, herb & rice paddy fields. You are guided by our occupant team of framers to learn more about the various items that are grown in and around the retreat. Activities include planting, weeding, harvesting and watering various herbs and food that go into their rejuvenation oils and food. Please note the agricultural activity is seasonal in villages.

Meeting point

There will be a car and driver waiting outside the exit gate of Dehradun Airport or Haridwar Railway Station. The driver will be holding a display card with your name on it.

How to get there

Rishikesh is just a 25 minute drive from the airport. By Train: A 5 hour journey on Shatabdi Express from New Delhi Railway Station to Haridwar. Then a 1 hour drive from Haridwar to Rishikesh by taxi.

Yogi Sant Parmar
Yogi Sant Parmar iensuing the strict training from his guru, he travelled the country for numerous years, studying with yoga masters all over the country. Yogi Parmar then did post graduation in Yogi Sciences. He has been teaching yoga at diverse level in India & abroad. He has delivered lectures on philosophy and yoga, conducted meditation workshop, asana and pranayama, yoga remedy sessions for employees of houses of corporate houses & yoga teacher training courses. His distinctive style of yoga teaching which include the huge blend of traditional power yoga, Hatha yoga and Restorative yoga. Yogi Sant Parmar is well known for his motivating and energetic classes with powerful adjustment.


Yogi Shankar
Yogi Shankar is a Meditation & Tantra Teacher and a self described “engineer of consciousness”. His background includes Kashmir Shavism/Kundalini/Vedas/Yoga/Ayurveda which he blends in helping his student architect their lives irrespective of their culture, country or age. He also utilizes transformation principles of Trika Philosophy(Will, Knowledge, Action), his spiritual experiences and his material world experiences to guide individuals in his “Rebirth”, “Purposefulness” and “Vedic Living” retreats. He trains youth in remote Himalayan villages and inner cities of industrialized nations in meditation, purposefulness, sustainability, self esteem and empathetic communication. He has translated 30 plus ancient Sanskrit texts such as Patanjali Yog Sutra, Vijan Bhairav Tantra, Bhagavad Gita, Kamsutra and Charak Samhita. He comes from a Kashmiri Brahmin scholarly family with numerous contributions on Abhinavgupta writings, Panini Grammar, Jyotish, Kundalini and Ayurveda.


Preeti is a native of Rishikesh, raised and born in the World Capital of Yoga. She completed her Masters in Traditional and Scientific Yoga from Haridwar University (India). Well-travelled around the world and has taught in Taiwan, Singapore, Germany, Switzerland etc. She loves to focus on traditional approach of yoga and aims to make this ancient practice available to everyone.
