Sadhana Yoga We use Patanjali’s Eight-Fold Path (Ashtanga Yoga) as our guide in how we teach the mental, physical, emotional and spiritual benefits that are accessible through daily practice. Our program includes asana (postures), meditation, pranayama (breath work) mantra (chanting of Sanskrit) as well as the study of yoga philosophy. Vinyasa Flow The Sadhana Vinyasa Flow is the yoga of spiritual practice based on the Ashtanga Vinyasa tradition. Each pose is typically held between five to ten breaths followed by a breath-controlled vinyasa leading to the next pose. In this sequence, we move with fluidity, buoyancy, strength, and vigor. Hatha Flow The Sadhana Hatha Flow is the yoga of spiritual practice based on the classic Sivananda tradition. After Sun Salutations warm-ups, postures are held for a space of time. By integrating breath and intention, each pose becomes a pose of meditation. Training Curriculum Asana (physical postures) Meditation-pranayama (breath work) Mantra (chanting of Sanskrit) Yoga philosophy Physical and energetic anatomy The yogic diet The art of sequencing and assisting Kriyas (yogic cleansing techniques) Ayurveda Special populations Yoga in the marketplace After graduation, you will receive a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certificate. You will be able to register with Yoga Alliance and teach anywhere in the world.

About the place

Bethel Farm is a unique place that offers a special opportunity to live on the land and with nature as you take rest from your everyday life and immerse yourself into the practice of yoga. All of our food is vegetarian and prepared with loving hands. Our vegetable garden nourishes us as often as possible and the food is always fresh. We share two main meals per day, with a light snack at lunch time.

Bethel
Stephen Bethel, affectionately known by many of his yoga comrades as Bethel, has been an avid yoga practitioner for many years. Establishing a daily meditation practice as a teenager, Bethel’s involvement with yoga blossomed into a lifestyle slowly over time. He became a Jivamukti yoga instructor in 2005. Since that time, he has assisted his mentors Sharon Gannon and David Life in training other teachers and now holds the title of advanced Jivamukti certification. Bethel has been a dedicated caretaker of his homestead in Hillsborough, NH. Through his desire to share this special place with others, Bethel and his partner, Kristen, began dreaming of a way to bring the community together to cultivate yoga, the growing food, and the celebration of other living arts. They created Bethel Farm Yoga and Living Arts Center. http://bethelfarm.org. With the support of the large family they share, Bethel Farm is charged with positive intention and a lot of heart. When Bethel is not in the yoga studio, he may be found out in one of the hoop houses, doing trail maintenance or finishing up a plaster job. He is very happy to share this magical place he feels honoured to call home.

 

Brianne Nadi
Nadi started practising yoga in college out of general interest. She quickly found the wisdom and health benefits of yoga to be the backbone in all her adventures; both out into the world and deep into her heart. She has used yoga to heal injuries, body aches, heartaches and anxiety. She has watched yoga increase her capacity for love, joy, and compassion in everyday life. Nadi says that with yoga, she feels strong in the body, steady in the mind and open in the heart. Her greatest pleasure is learning more about this ancient tradition and sharing the knowledge with others. She is a 500hr RYT Yoga Alliance certified instructor in Hatha and Vinyasa Flow through School Yoga Institute. She also has experience teaching Restorative, Prenatal and Kids Yoga. When she’s not on her mat you can find her strolling around Portland’s great neighbourhoods or out in the world travelling to new places. She finds herself frequently heading up a trail or down a river in her kayak connecting with mother earth. She loves relaxing in the park with friends, playing music, writing poetry and talking about the wonders of life and this planet. She is currently studying Wilderness Therapy and obtaining her Professional Mental Health Counseling Licence from Lewis & Clark College.

    I did the 10 day yoga retreat. At first it does not seem like the yoga you are used to--rather than flowing from one posture to the next, we systematically go through 100 different postures. By the 4th day have done them all and start to do some sun salutations, moon salutations. This might be frustrating for experienced yogis, bu for a beginner-intermediate like me was a nice basis. Going around and making corrections to postures might be one way to improve it. Wonderful food. NIce supportive group dynamic, important for the fast that occurs on day 9 - TripAdvisor Review

    "Great experience out down by hidden pricing!"
    I went for the 1day 2 night course. It would have been excellent if not for the "surprise" extra cost slapped on me when I checked out. The food was excellent, the program is good for newbie. I believe experienced or advance yoga practitioner will probably look elsewhere. The accommodation is clean, staff is super friendly. However all these ended with a bad Taste in my mouth when they slapped me with a extra 15USD$ when I checked out. We were encouraged to check out after breakfast. naturally we will attend all lessons right until breakfast. The 15USD was for one yoga lesson before breakfast. It is not clear on the website nor the PDF brochure that there is extra cost for that one yoga lesson. It would been clearer for participants to know what lessons are free, why lessons be charged. So if you do go, which I so recommend, do skip to morning yoga lesson before breakfast. You wouldn't want to pay 15bucks for basic exercises. It is definitely over prices in my humble opinion.   • "Best place in Nepal to relax, get in shape and find some inner peace."
    My experience at Sadhana Yoga was amazing. I stayed for 6 days/7night program. I loved everything about this place. The location is beautiful with stunning views of the lake. The food was delicious, healthy, and very well balanced. The whole yoga and meditation routine was a little challenging, but with enough time for rest and relaxation. After a day I felt completely at home and part of Sadhana family. Asanga , Durga and and all the stuff are very helpful and full of Love and Light. I felt very grateful to all of them for providing such a wonderful experience. THANK YOU! I will try very hard to come back next year.   • "Very nice experience at Pokhara"
    I spent 2 nights and 1 day at Sadhana Yoga Centre and it was a great experience. Until then we haven't done any yoga or meditation before, so it was a nice to try something new for a change at a really nice centre. The location is great, right in the forest and with stunning view on Phewa Lake. You're able to see the monkeys while practising yoga. The food they served was very tasty (mitho chha) and vegetrian 🙂 and the staff is always willing to help, if you have any questions. - TripAdvisor Review

  • "I loved every minute if it"
    Sadhana Yoga Retreat is in a picturesque location overlooking a beautiful lake and the surrounding hills. It is a haven of peace and tranquillity. It is the ideal setting for a relaxing retreat. The staff are friendly, accommodating and eager to please. The rooms are simple and clean. I participated in the 10 day Yoga Holiday and Asanga was my teacher. He was an excellent teacher. He was professional, supportive and knowledgeable. I thoroughly enjoyed the structure of the day which included meditation, yoga, nasal cleansing, chanting and the thoroughly enjoyable Karma yoga. All activities are optional. The staff will organise additional activities for the guests such as paragliding, massages, bus tickets, mountain-top sunrise yoga and so on. The food at Sadhana was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Sadhana Yoga Centre. I felt welcomed and as if I were part of the family. I met really amazing people there and we have since become friends. I highly recommend Sadhana Yoga Centre and fully intend on returning. - TripAdvisor Review
