TAI provides a compendium of tools as catalysts for human evolution by integrating wisdom found in the sciences of Samkhya philosophy; Hatha Yoga (asana, pranayama, mudra, bandha, yantra, mantra), Ayurveda (the science of health), Vaastu (creating harmonious surroundings), and Jyotisha (classical techniques of divination). By incorporating these ancient sciences into one’s contemporary life, vibrant physical health, equanimous mental and emotional states, the refinement and expansion of consciousness, spiritual growth, and real empowerment will harmoniously unfold. When this knowledge is applied with focused will, altruistic intention, and sincere discipline; exponential results will be acquired.

Yoga is one of the six classic darshanas of India. The word darshana means both “point of view” and literally “to see”. All of the darshanas share the purpose of supporting the human endeavour to achieve that progress which leads to liberation. All of the darshanas are woven from the same basic fabric to explain the nature of the Universe. Samkhya and Yoga, two of the six, are very closely woven together, and Samkhya also provides the foundation for understanding Ayurveda, Jyotisha, and Vaastu.

Study of Samkhya, Ayurveda, Sanskrit, Vaastu, Jyotisha, Dhuni Puja and Viraja Homa will together provide a strong foundation for teachers in comprehending the concepts of classic Yoga Shastra which are so deeply intertwined within these sister subjects and rituals. These subjects will be integrated into the science of Hatha Yoga which will be explored through asana practice and posture clinics, the art of sequencing and specialized teaching methods, yoga nidra, yoga therapy, the detailed study of pranayama techniques and benefits, meditation, bandhas, mudras, mantra and chanting, western anatomy and anatomy of the energy body. This YTT will give students the fundamentals of the vidyas which in India are traditionally considered basic essentials for a qualified teacher in any of the classic subjects.

This training is for those who have already completed a 200 hour level training or by permission from the Director of the program. This advanced 300 hour teacher training will enhance the scope of knowledge for even the most ardent practitioners.

How to get there

Flying In and Out of Costa Rica at San Jose International Airport San Jose International Airport (SJO) is the most convenient airport to The Sanctuary. Frequent international flights are available at this modern airport. For your travel, plan at least two hours between local air and international travel. By Local Air to Tambor, then by Taxi to The Sanctuary at Two Rivers Two local airlines offer scheduled flights and charter services to Tambor Airstrip. The flight time is 25 minutes. Check for flights on either Sansa Airlines www.flysansa.com which is a 5 minute walk from the exit of the International Airport or Nature Air www.natureair.com which now departs from inside the International Airport terminal but you must clear Immigration and Customs first and then re-enter the building upstairs and check-in at their counter. By Land to The Sanctuary An option to flying, we can prearrange land transportation (shuttle bus for a group or private taxi for individuals) from San Jose directly to The Sanctuary via roads and a ferry that crosses Nicoya Bay to the Nicoya Peninsula. This might be economical for a large group and is approx. 5 hours. Prices start at $260. We do not recommend renting a car.

Naganath
Naganath is the Founder of the Tantric Alchemy Institute. An ardent yogi for the past 22 years, Naga has completed over 1000 hours of yoga teacher training with Shiva Rea (her Advanced Teacher Training Program), Rod Stryker, and teachers from the Bihar School of Yoga. In 2004, Naga studied Ayurveda at The Ayurvedic Academy held at Bastyr University in Washington and began extensive studies in Jyotish (Vedic Astrology) with the aid of his close friend and mentor in various occult sciences, Dr. Robert Svoboda. It was Naga's devotion and earnestness that propelled and guided him to find a strong karmic resonance in Ancient Tantra, eventually being initiated by Shri Kapilnath into the International Nath Order, a modern Nath Tantric sect established by Shri Gurudev Mahendranath with its roots in the Adi-Nath Sampradaya and Uttara Kaula Sampradayas of which Shri Mahendranath was holder of parampara and Guru. The Guru tradition and initiation of the International Nath Order includes wisdom teachings from Hindu, Soto Zen and Taoist sources plus practices rediscovered by the science and yoga of meditation, contemplation, mantra and ritual. After managing a well-respected yoga studio in Venice Beach, California, Naga recognized a void in the western yoga scene and was compelled to create a yoga school which incorporates the classic yogic sciences under one umbrella in order to honor and keep the torch of the ancient yogis alight as well as to aid and advance western yoga students in these classic wisdom sciences.

Hard to put this magnificent place into words. Being off the grid and in the middle of the beautiful jungle allows for a very healing experience. A great way to learn new things about yourself and learn new things from others. The staff is absolutely amazing and makes you feel like family. The food is incredible by far the best food I've had in a very very long time. So many amazing experiences from the yoga, to some of the rituals to the socializing, to the hikes...all wonderful! Being at The Sanctuary at Two Rivers and sharing several dhuni empowerments with Naganath was incredibly potent, inspired a deeper attunement to the healing energies of the jungle lands surrounding us and invoked a profound resonance to the universal elemental energies in a way that still lives through me. It was a rite of passage for which I continue to be grateful for. from The Sanctuary Testimonial Page

Throughout my life I’ve had the good fortune to kneel at the feet of great Swamis in India, His Holiness the Dalai Lama and scores of wise teachers and Pujaris. The time I spent in the dhuni of chakra raja Naganath, at The Sanctuary at Two Rivers in Costa Rica, was as sacred and connected to spirit as anything I’ve ever experienced. The depth of lineage connection, the breadth of ancient wisdom and the powerful transmission conferred in his ceremonies remains with me to this day. Naganath’s work is both a gift and a blessing for all blessed to be in his presence. from The Sanctuary Testimonial Page

You can't truly understand the magic of this place until you experience it. I have never felt as good as I did living on theses grounds with amazing people eating the most incredible healing food. After my first visit to The Sanctuary for my 200 hr YTT, I eagerly returned for my 300 hr.... and I can't wait for the day I can go back again! This place has changed my life in more ways than I know. Words and pictures can not capture the experience you have here. I am forever grateful. Om Namah Shivaya! from The Sanctuary Facebook Page

The Sanctuary at Two Rivers is one of my favorite places on Earth! The retreat my partner and I led there this year ended up being one of the most magical experiences any of us yogi travelers had ever had. The jungle is alive with sounds and smells and flavors. The tree houses are roomy, comfortable and blend completely with the surroundings. The food is gourmet, and we found ourselves taking pictures of our meals all the time! The yoga space is truly outstanding, and we spent many hours surrounded by the beauty of nature while practicing. Music was not necessary. The jungle serenaded us! The left-brained side of us loved working with a very detail-oriented and communicative staff. from Sanctuary Facebook Page
