Where to Eat When You’re Feelin’ Crabby in Krabi, Thailand

We all know what it’s like to be “hangry”: you’re angry, hungry, tired, and just overall not a nice to be around. But when we’re in a foreign country, it can be hard to plan for when the hunger bug strikes. As a traveler, we ain’t got time to be hangry! Luckily for us, no matter where in the world we are, there are fantastic foods and flavors to be found…especially, in Krabi, Thailand!

Read on for our top picks on where to go when the hunger bug has hit and you’re feelin’ crabby in Krabi!

Grand PP Arcade

Don’t be fooled by the “arcade” in the name (although I know we all think a joint cafe/arcade would be awesome)! The Grand PP Arcade serves up fresh fruit shakes and spring rolls, pad thai, and curries. Most of the staff here seems to speak English, which is great for people still trying to ease into the Thai culture and language. While you’re here, don’t forget to try the mango smoothie and spring rolls!

โกจ้อย ขนมจีนไก่ทอด (Fried Chicken with Fried Chicken)

Don’t be discouraged by the name! Though the shop makes sure you know fried chicken is their main dish, they also serve up fresh rice noodles and fresh curries every day. According to the reviews, they also serve on-the-house fresh vegetables such as green beans and bean sprout salads, in addition to complementary tea. Of course, while you’re here, you should try the fried chicken!

You can find them here: โกจ้อย, Nuea Khlong, Changwat Krabi 81130, Thailand

เรือนไม้ (Ruen Mai)

For those looking to indulge in a little bit finer of a dining experience without the fine dining price tag, Ruen Mai is a perfect choice. Reviewers have stated that this restaurant serves some of the best Southern Thai Food they have ever had! Fresh seafood, soups, vegetables, and noodles are also offered in addition to the normal spread of rice, meats, and curries. While you’re here, don’t forget to try the green curry and crispy pork!

You can find them here: Sai Thai, Mueang Krabi District, Krabi 81000, Thailand

Jungle Kitchen

A little bit further from the water, but no less fresh! Wait times here are described as “a bit long”, at 20-30 minutes, but every reviewer agrees it was well worth the wait! Much like the rest of the eateries in Krabi, Thailand, Jungle Kitchen serves fresh vegetables, meats, and curries alongside fresh-made noodles and rice. While you’re here, don’t forget to try the Pineapple Curry!
