Our philosophy is based on tradition. The subject of yoga is vast and worthy of a lifetime of learning. An established personal practice is the most important foundation for the yogi’s journey. You will join a comprehensive program aimed at preparing you for a journey into the dimension of Ashtanga Yoga – as a lifestyle, a worldview and potentially a profession. You will complete this course prepared to continue the art of learning along this ancient path. You will learn the Vinyasa counts and technical foundation for key asanas of the primary Series in their original context. Tim Feldmann, Kino MacGregor, and Miami Life Center present a roster of teachers who dedicate their lives to the spiritual practice of yoga. The intention is to provide the students with an education, not with a certification. Only R. Sharath Jois & the Sri K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, India, can grant you an official certification or authorization to teach Ashtanga Yoga.
Tim Feldmann Tim Feldmann is Director of the Ashtanga Intensive at Miami Life Center, with approximately 80 teaching hours throughout the month. He’ll be teaching the mysore class, anatomy, breathing, techniques and adjustment; apart from designing the entire program and the intention behind it. He was set on the yoga path by his first teacher Lino Miele and is Authorized to teach directly by the founder of the Ashtanga Yoga Method, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, and his grandson, R. Sharath Jois. A practitioner of the Advanced A series Tim is dedicated to Ashtanga Yoga’s traditional method. A near fatal falling accident in 1992 led Tim on the yogic path. His teaching integrates extensive studies of F.M. Alexander Technique and sitting meditation with 20 years of experience as a professional dancer and an internationally acclaimed choreographer. His in-depth knowledge of functional anatomy, alignment as well as the idiosyncratic body and mind in stillness and in motion creates the platform upon which his solid understanding of the Ashtanga method rests. Tim’s humorous, straight forward yet profound teaching style makes him a cherished teacher, traveling extensively throughout Asia, Australia, Europe and the Americas.

Kino MacGregor
Kino joins us for the Ashtanga Intensive to teach chanting and The Yoga Sutras of Patanjli. She also leads our students in Guided full primary on Fridays. Kino is an international yoga teacher, author of four books, producer of six Ashtanga Yoga DVDs, writer, vlogger, world traveler, co-founder of Miami Life Center, co-fouder of Yoga Challenge and OmStars and co-creator of Yoga Pro Wheel. Kino’s dharma is to help people experience the limitless potential of the human spirit through the inner tradition of yoga. She is one of the few people in the world of yoga to embrace both the traditional teaching of India’s historic past and the popular contemporary social media channels. You can find her online on OmStars (www.omstars.com), teaching classes and workshops all over the world and on social media with over 2 million followers across all her channels. With more than 18 years of experience in Ashtanga Yoga, she is one of a select group of people to receive the Certification to teach Ashtanga yoga by its founder Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India and practice into the Fifth Series of Ashtanga Yoga.

Chase Bossart
Chase teaches the Bhagavada Gita to our Ashtanga Intensive students. Using an interactive approach, he brings in a real world application to this ancient philosophical text. “All of the training I have received in Yoga has been in the lineage of Śri T. Krishnamacharya as passed on to his son Mr. TKV Desikachar. In total, I have spent more than 4 years in Chennai studying one-on-one with Mr. Desikachar and his wife Menaka (Vedic Chanting), observing therapeutic classes at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (KYM) and participating in group trainings by his son Kausthub and other long time students of Mr. Desikachar. It is impossible to put into words the immense gratitude I feel for them and for what I have received from them. In particular, I am deeply indebted to Mr. TKV Desikachar for the incredible personal care, kindness, dedication and skill that he put into my development as a person and as a teacher. Since 2003, yoga teaching has been my sole occupation. Though I live just North of San Francisco in Marin County, I travel frequently to give workshops and trainings on a wide array of yoga and yoga therapy topics. As as student and teacher, I am particularly drawn to the teachings of Patañjali’s Yogasūtra, meditation, prāṇāyāma and the therapeutic application of yoga therapy. And I absolutely love to lead experiential workshops that demonstrate yoga philosophy’s practical applications in daily life. I think of my teaching style as a warm, funny and engaging (with lots of practical examples) that (hopefully) appeals to every level of yoga practitioner from beginner to advanced. Śrī gurubhyo namaḥ! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”
