Chase teaches the Bhagavada Gita to our Ashtanga Intensive students. Using an interactive approach, he brings in a real world application to this ancient philosophical text. “All of the training I have received in Yoga has been in the lineage of Śri T. Krishnamacharya as passed on to his son Mr. TKV Desikachar. In total, I have spent more than 4 years in Chennai studying one-on-one with Mr. Desikachar and his wife Menaka (Vedic Chanting), observing therapeutic classes at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (KYM) and participating in group trainings by his son Kausthub and other long time students of Mr. Desikachar. It is impossible to put into words the immense gratitude I feel for them and for what I have received from them. In particular, I am deeply indebted to Mr. TKV Desikachar for the incredible personal care, kindness, dedication and skill that he put into my development as a person and as a teacher. Since 2003, yoga teaching has been my sole occupation. Though I live just North of San Francisco in Marin County, I travel frequently to give workshops and trainings on a wide array of yoga and yoga therapy topics. As as student and teacher, I am particularly drawn to the teachings of Patañjali’s Yogasūtra, meditation, prāṇāyāma and the therapeutic application of yoga therapy. And I absolutely love to lead experiential workshops that demonstrate yoga philosophy’s practical applications in daily life. I think of my teaching style as a warm, funny and engaging (with lots of practical examples) that (hopefully) appeals to every level of yoga practitioner from beginner to advanced. Śrī gurubhyo namaḥ! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”
