Class Type

  • Group Classes
All Level classes (75 min) focus on balancing and stabilizing. They continue to focus on the basics of yoga while creative sequences introduce new poses. All poses are taught in a manner that invites students to deepen their understanding of physical alignment while beginning to blend the postures into fluid sequences that are synchronized with the rhythm of the breath.
Zoë Lavender Originally from the UK, I have been part of the yoga community at Younion Yoga (previously Shelby Mcdermott Yoga) since I first moved to Zürich in early 2013. I love this space and the people who fill it and will always consider this studio my second home. This was the place where I truly fell in love with yoga and found my biggest passion. Having completed my vinyasa yoga teacher training with David Lurey and Mirjam Wagner in early 2015, I have now joined the Younion Yoga teaching team to share my love of yoga and to continue on my yoga journey. I aim to guide you to a greater understanding of your body and breath through yoga flow, and above all give you the space to spend some quiet time with yourself.


Angela Blank
Yoga is not about crossing your feet behind your head. It is about your indivdiual body and your self. In my 200hrs Teacher Training with Rachel Zinman and John Weddepohl I learned to individually adapt postures to different needs and I was introduced to the teachings of Selfknowledge (Vedanta), an ancient yogic philosophy still applicable in modern times. I love to challenge my students on a physical as well as a mental level but at the same time provide a lot of room for balance and relaxation. I’m about to receive my 500hrs diploma by Olive Ssembuze, who, besides Rachel and John, is a great inspiration for my yoga classes. Teaching styles: Hatha Flow, Vinyasa Yoga, Restorative Yoga


Nadine Eichenberger
My yoga path started in 2013 during a long trip through South East Asia, where I had my very first traditional Ashtanga Mysore Class. I was fascinated by the fact that there is so much more than just the movement of the body. The more I practiced, the more curious I became to learn more about yoga. So for me it was only the next step to complete my 200h Teacher Training in 2015 at Sundari Yoga in St.Gallen with Chiara Castellan and Katchie Ananda. I am of the strong believe, that it is possible to practice yoga in every stage of life. That’s why I continued my journey with a «Kids Teacher Training» by Cayetana Rodenas and a «Yoga 50+ Teacher Training» by Ursula Salbert in 2016. Among many other things, yoga to me is passion, and compassion to one`s ownmind and body. It is therefore my goal to greet every student at his or her current state of mind, and yoga and give the support and encouragement needed for the daily practice. I am very much looking forward to meeting you!


Irina Meissner
Expand your comfort zone, not just step out of it, that's what yoga is to me. My yoga journey started 17 years ago with a Jivamukti class. Since then i had the pleasure to experience different stiles and teachers throughout Europe, Asia and the US. After I did a intensive yoga sadhana in Varkala, India in 2010, which was followed by a 200h YA certified teacher training by Olive Ssembuze and TJ Jackson in Zurich, I knew I wanted to pass on all the teachings yoga has to offer. I want the students to have fun, to explore their physical body, through organic movements and let their breath be their guide. If you move like grass int the wind, stay soft but at the same time engage, you will see that your body and mind opens up easiest. For me the most important is your smile on your face after class and that you feel more open then you did before.


Alexa Meershoek As a person with a lot of passions in life I found my balance in a deep and regular Yoga-practice. Since the mind is wild, the energy tends to go in many directions. Yoga is the key to focus on what is important in the present moment and keeping your energy where it's needed. I concentrate on the opening of the heart and the mind by doing gentle bends which will lead you out of the comfort zone to more awareness. Everything you do defines your body, your mind and your soul. Therefore, choose to make every move with love and by respecting your own body. For me living a balanced life means to live each day with a positive and grateful mindset.
