Judy Harper has been practicing Iyengar yoga since 1981 and teaching since 1993. Judy became a certified teacher in 2003. She has taught Monday classes since Iyengar Yoga Encinitas opened in 2003. Her yoga practice has provided the physical and spiritual nourishment to lead an active life of gardening, walking and traveling with her husband John. Sharing the gift of yoga with others and helping them to find a way to incorporate a yoga practice into their everyday life is her main focus.
Stanley Williams discovered and began practicing yoga in 1976 while a student at La Salle College in his hometown of Philadelphia. He’s successfully completed the rigorous, as well as in-depth, three-year Iyengar Yoga Teacher Training Program in San Diego. Stan plans to continue his yoga studies with senior Iyengar teachers Carolyn Belko, Gloria Goldberg and Manuso Manos. Stan’s goal is to teach yoga joyfully in the tradition of B.K.S. Iyengar with compassion, knowing that true joy comes when a student recognizes his or her own true nature and embraces it fully, which is the very essence of yoga.
Deanna Cramer has been practicing yoga since 2002 and studying with Carolyn Belko since 2004. She graduated from the 3-year Iyengar Teacher Training program in 2011 and holds the Intro I & II Iyengar certifications. She is mentored by Senior Teachers Carolyn Belko, director of IYNC, and Gloria Goldberg, director of the B.K.S. Iyengar Yoga Center of La Mesa. She’s been teaching children and teens since 1997 and youth yoga classes since 2010. Beyond just learning the asanas, Deanna says she’s cognizant of the positive impact yoga brings her students outside of class, whether it be in fostering courage and persistence, or the gift of sharing yoga with others. She encourages her students to let go of any sense that only perfection is expected.
HEIDI SMITH Heidi Smith has been studying yoga since the late 90’s, and shares her love of the subject. Soon after learning Iyengar Yoga she felt the fit, trained at the Center, then started teaching in January 2012. Heidi teaches in a dynamic, friendly manner and presents artistic poses. Certified since 2013, Heidi has been to India and studied with the Iyengars.
