Iyengar Yoga is a form of Hatha Yoga that known for its use of props, such as belts and blocks, as aids in performing asanas (postures). It is firmly based on the traditional eight limbs of emphasizing the development of strength, stamina, flexibility and balance, as well as concentration and meditation. Through the practice of a system of asanas, it aims to unite the body, mind and spirit for health and well-being. This discipline is considered a powerful tool to relieve the stresses of modern-day life which in turn can help promote total physical and spiritual well-being. There are three unique aspects of Iyengar yoga, namely, technicalities, sequencing and timing.

More recently, Riana opened the first Yoga Institute in Indonesia with the intention of offering affordable yoga to all students.

Suzan Andyanto
Attention to details has always been Suzan’s strong point and this is reflected in her teaching where she is able to identify the strength and weaknesses of her students, and teach her students on how to modify their practice to overcome their difficulties in doing the asanas . Her teaching style is lively yet strict. She often uses daily lives as analogies when explaining yoga concepts in class so people can relate to yoga as a subject that is close to their heart and not some distant concept. Her students love her for her sense of humour and nurturing nature.

Gigi Meng

She strives to understand the various physical health requirements for the general upkeep so as to customise the yoga asanas for individual and collective benefits. Yoga has tremendously helped her heal her own wrist and shoulder injury. She is an encouraging leader, and an intuitive and articulate yoga teacher.
