Ronald van Pijkeren Ronald van Pijkeren worked as a marketing manager for a long time, but after more than 15 years of marketing and sales, it was time for something else. He practices yoga for a long time and has now completed many different workshops and training courses. Ronald followed, among other things, a Vinyasa teacher training (Svaha Yoga, 500+ hours), an Ayurvedic Yoga teacher training (Delight Yoga, 150 hours), yoga therapy trainings (Svastha Yoga and Ayurveda), fascia / connective tissue related training (Anatomy Trains) and a iRest Yoga Nidra training. He recently followed a Budokon Yoga and Animal Flow Teacher Training. At Rumah Yoga, Ronald teaches Vinyasa yoga and Mixed Movement classes, various workshops and courses and therapeutic yoga sessions.


Ed Caffin
Ed Caffin studied psychology and worked as a teacher and trainer at the Free University and the University of Amsterdam. He was also trained as a mindfulness trainer and is a certified yoga teacher. Ed gained experience with yoga and meditation in India and Myanmar and followed lessons for many years at various yoga teachers in Amsterdam. He trained as a mindfulness trainer at the Center for Mindfulness. At De Nieuwe Yogaschool he did a Vinyasa Teacher training (200 hours). He is currently teaching psychology at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam. At Rumah Yoga, Ed Vinyasa teaches yoga, Yang Yin yoga, meditation classes and regular eight week Mindfulness training sessions.


Pirjo Turkenburg
Pirjo has been practicing Chi Neng Qigong since 2014, a Chinese movement theory that balances body and mind, removes blockages in the body and allows the Qi (life energy) to flow. For her, practicing Chi Neng Qiqong is meditation and sports in one. It gives her a lot of rest which makes her feel better, is more relaxed, can live in the now and feels physically more powerful. Out of mind and back in the body! In early 2017 she got her level 1 instructor exam at the Chi Neng Institute and since then she teaches. Pirjo has a Scandinavian background and a predilection for forests, (birch) trees and lakes. Opening up to nature and exchanging Qi is therefore very appealing to her. Scandinavian rooted in a Chinese philosophy.


Laura Bliek
Laura's very first yoga classes were in Cape Town in 2006. Back in the Netherlands she wanted more and started with lessons in Amsterdam. In 2012 she did her first teacher training with Paul Dallaghan in Thailand. From that moment on, yoga was not just a physical practice, but rather a 'mind-body connection practice'. Because she studied and practiced different aspects of yoga over the years, this became a lifestyle for her that she gladly shares with her students. Laura is now a mother and yoga teacher and likes to follow workshops with various teachers such as Laruga Glaser Daphne Koken and Shiva Rae. She would like to give her students what she really enjoys. Laura gives an intense and dynamic Vinyasa yoga class in which there is room for fun. You leave the lesson energetic and happy!


Mairon Chang Mairon works as a vitality coach in the healthcare sector and his passion for dance brought him into contact with Pilates. Years ago when he went through his back as an amateur dancer, the physiotherapist advised to take Pilates lessons for a speedy recovery. Pilates has been a part of his life since then. Mairon's enthusiasm for Pilates ensured that the gym, where he attended classes, asked if he wanted to teach. After an internal training (Ground Control and Matwork Pilates) Mairon has given Pilates lessons since 2010. In addition, Mairon is still dancing fanatically in a modern dance company and he gives Zumbales. He is also a masseur (relaxation, deeptissue, traditional Thai (Watpo) and chair massages). In his work as a vitality coach awareness and his own direction in energy balance are central. In a Pilates class he thinks it is important that you are aware of your body and feel what you are training, but above all that you also enjoy the lesson.
