Yvonne Yin Peng -
It is on her name. Yvonne is the strong ashtangi and Yin is the gentle yin teacher. In between you have to figure it out or ask her. Yvonne stepped into her 1st yoga practice 7 years ago and felt an immediate connection with the practice. She took her yoga TT the next year, hoping to learn and sustain a personal practice and never once thought she will actually teach. Yvonne’s teaching started when one day her teacher asked Yvonne to cover her class. Imagine, always a student on the mat to teaching. Daunting but life changing experience.
Something about Yvonne's Yoga Inspiration
Always curious and in search for a way to live a balance life. Yvonne found the answer through yoga. Yoga is the path for us to cultivate the tool for an equanimous life, it will ask the flexible to build strength and ask the strong to build flexibility. This is the fundamental of Yvonne's teaching, helping students to find their strength, softness and most importantly their breath in the practice. Yoga is a life-long practice, put in the effort and enjoy the journey.
Something about Yvonne’s class
Don’t get deceive by her friendly look, jokes and laughter she brings to the class. Yvonne could be teaching a basic fundamental class; your muscle might still ache tomorrow. She starts her class with a gentle flow focusing on the fundamentals to ensure students feel their body and ends with nice long stretches so student can tune in and relax. She believes everyone needs a little yin and yang in life. Her teaching is a delicate balance of effort and grace.
Qualifications and Certifications
Learning is a life-long process and there is so much depth in yoga. Always curious, Yvonne has taken many workshops to keep learning and discovering her own yoga practice. Always grateful to all her teachers Don Peers, Paul and Suzee Grilley, Kino MacGregor, Tim Felmann, Laruga Glaser, Denise Chew, James Figueira and many of her yoga friends and students for their support and guidance. She also believes her best teachers are her students. Without her students, there is no application of yoga. Namaste.
